I'm interested to know how this holds up. I've given some thought to dipping my Supreme 208, but am worried that the water will end up peeling it fairly quickly. Keep us posted!

It looks awesome, like Pirate said I'm interested to know how well this holds up. This could open me up to a lot of customers since I'm near a decent boating area.

How many gallons did you use and how many coats?

So far so good, the client has been out on the water all day yesterday and no phone calls today...
I'm positive the dip will hold up. If it could withstand a high psi washer, why not a few waves.
I have done a lot of wake boarding and the boat in general cruses at low speed. And the top speed on these things is not that fast.
I did warn the client that the dip is fresh so go easy on it, also the guy always pulls it out of the water after each ride.
I am more concerned about the damage in the boat..he is a cowboy and this boat is a party boat..
So i am sure i will see it soon for touch ups. I will keep you guys posted.

    cheers

Wake boat going for a dip!!

Glad to hear it! My concern with peeling would be at any exposed seams and also where the trailer makes contact with it. Did you spray additional coats or seal the edges in some way?

    Thanks!

update..there was a spot on the side of the boat that peeled. The size of a valley ball. I am sure it was due to dirt. The boat was VERY dirty with crap that was sun stuck to the boat for weeks. I did wash it down a few time and gave it an alcohol wash down. I guess it was my fault. I will just remove the the area rewash and dippe.

Also the dippe was damaged around the gas filler. The only way to find out if it full is it over fills..
and we all know GAS AND DIPP DONT LIKE EACH OTHER !!

his mistake, he was also warned the dipp was done thursday and friday. and saterday he was on the water with friends. So i warned him the dipp needs to cure in the sun for a few days.

    stay tuned

Lmd any updates on the boat? Have a friend asking me. Did you do the whole bottom of the boat even where it rides on the trailer?

Would you guys think running a strip of black vinly on the exposed edge that meets the water can prevent peeling? You will be sort of sealing that edge with vinly and we all know vinly holds up to water already. I always though this is what i would do if and when i dip a future boat.

The biggest issue I would see with this is on and off the trailer.

If you click on the pic and look at it in full size you can see the dip is above the trailer contact points. Only trailer damage might come from hitting the guide poles if he isnt carefull loaing/unloading it.
