This is actually a really good idea, I have old asbestos/cement tiles on my house and we have been advised by the local township not to remove them, but to put new siding on top. My wife hates vinyl siding and anything else is too expensive. It is sound and in great condition, but there are too many gaps for air leakage. I think plasti-dip would do a good covering and air seal the exterior.

I wonder if I can convince my wife this is a good idea.......

I like this because it would essentially halt any moisture damage. I've got a cabin in the woods where a dipped exterior may be just the ticket.

The camo colors would blend in nicely in most neighborhoods.

i guarantee this would be a seller for houses like mine, i love my house but the previous owners put like an off white/yellow steel siding on it and its horrible ugly in my mind although im a single guy but definitely would be cool to change the color but i just cant imagine how many gallons it would take, would probably do it if the siding wasn't brand new.

I do alot of residential constructution so i know alot about what im about to say.

I WOULD NEVER DO THIS ON A HOUSE OR CABIN OR ANY ENCLOSURE AS CLAIMED.

The reason it this. Your House Breathes air in and out. If you seal your house your lookin to cause internal moisture buildup and
really fuk your house up.( and have to pay ppl like me alot of money to fix your Valuable asset. Now if you wanted to Dip your house you can do it but you would really need alot of help understanding what you are about to do and how a House breathes and what process you will need to undergo to make this happen.

heres what will happen if you dip it and have no idea what your doing.

    1. When you shower and steam gets into you house your walls will not let that moisture escape, Most newer houses are wraped with a breathable material that allows moisture to escape but not penetrate.
    2. This Moisture will cause Mold. And allow Moisture to deteriorate your studs, sheetrock, buildrite, plywood siding ect.
    3. You and your family will get sick and you house will need lots of work.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DOES THIS WITH OUT PROPER BUILDING CODE RESEARCH

You really need to learn how your house works before attempting this i can not stress this enough.

Now an un insulated garage, polebarn, shed or outbuilding it would be OK

Well I was just thinking about doing this to my siding until that last post. But my shed is still available. :-)

So are you all gonna just ignore that PD is very flammable? That the solvents are really bad for you? This is as bad an idea as PDing a room black.

Think I may have to dip my garden shed. Any suggestions on a colour?
